When you click the Pen tool, a menu will appear on the left-hand side of the screen. In the top half of the screen, you will see “Fill Settings” and “Fill Transparency.”
Fill Settings has a color button that looks like this .
By clicking this button, you will have a color wheel option, just as you do in some of the other tools. You will be able to use the color wheel to select the fill color of your Pen tool shapes and drawings.
You will also see a line located under “Fill Transparency.” This line allows you to adjust the transparency of fill color. So, if you want only shapes with no filling, you would set the transparency to 0. For solid shapes, you will set your transparency settings to 100.
In the bottom half of the left-hand menu, you will see “Stroke Settings,” “Stroke Transparency,” and “Stroke Size.”
Under Stroke settings, you will see another color button. This will allow you to control the color of your lines, or your strokes.
You will also see a layer (Above) button that looks like this . The default option is “Above,” meaning your strokes will appear to be on top of your shapes. You can click this button to select the “Below” button instead. The “Below” button will change your strokes so that they appear to be under the shapes.
You will also see a “Stroke Transparency” line as well as a “Stroke Size” line.
The “Stroke Transparency” line can be adjusted to make your strokes look solid, nonexistent, or transparent.
The “Stroke Size” is used to adjust the thickness of your strokes.
